How to Train the Human Spirit, Pt. 1 Bernard Smalls

S P I R I T O L O G Y EDUCATING THE HUMAN SPIRIT

Our Mission: "Living inside out in a world that lives outside in..."

The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly. Proverbs 20: 27

Today let’s study what I call Spiritology!
Psychology is the study and the functions of the human mind.
Man is a spirit. He has a soul. He lives in a physical body.
Physiology is the study and functions of the physical body.
Spiritology is the study and functions of the human spirit working in conjunction with the mind and the physical body, producing peace. We have spent millions, even billions of dollars studying the physical body of man. It would be hard, even impossible to measure the amount that we have spent on the mind of man. But as a whole we have greatly neglected the most important part of man which is the spirit of man. Man is a spirit. He has a soul. He lives in a physical body.

SPIRIT FOOD
The Bible, the Word of God is "spirit food" or food for the human spirit. I want to focus on pragmatic or practical lessons that will feed humanity by nourishing the human spirit. Jesus did not come to start a religion. Jesus said; "man shall not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4) Jesus said feed my sheep. Well what are we to feed them? Hamburgers and French fries? No, Jesus wants us to feed the entire human race of believing ones the Word of God which is spirit-food!

4 KEYS TO TRAINING THE HUMAN SPIRIT
1. Meditation in the Word
2. Practicing the Word
3. Giving the Word first place
4. Instantly obey the voice of your spirit

Today we will focus on key #1 Meditation in the Word

Joshua 1:8 AMP - This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.

The Word of God will work for you if you agree with it. If it becomes part of you—if every thought you have, every word you say and every action you take is influenced by the Word. The Word must be in your heart.
The way you get the Word in your heart is to feed or meditate in the Word.
Meditate means to reflect on, contemplate, or ponder something. The Hebrew word for “meditate” means “to murmur. It is also translated in the KJV “mutter”; “imagine”; “roar”; “speak”; “study”; “talk”; “utter” ;”think on”

The late Earl Nightingale built a multi-billion dollar industry in motivation products on one simple statement. Earl Nightingale said years ago – “We become what we think about.” Proverbs 23: 7 had already said; as a man thinks in his heart so is he.

“We become what we think about.” Earl Nightingale
“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Solomon, Proverbs 23: 7
